The Diocese of Cork and Ross has invited the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) to conduct a review of safeguarding practice. This review will take place from January 20th – 23rd 2020.

(Eskimo legend) As the rain poured down and the wind howled hundreds of us gathered in our church for the annual Bereavement Mass, which this year was held on Wednesday, 13th November. This year saw a poorer attendance at the Mass than in previous years, this was due in part to the very inclement weather.
Death creates a heartache which in time will heal, love creates memories which death cannot steal.
Shortly we will celebrate as the Christian community the central mysteries of our faith the death and resurrection of Jesus. In remembering the events of Holy Week, we are not just commemorating them. We are drawing strength from them and reminding ourselves of our core beliefs as Christians.

As we go into 2018 we are entering an exciting time for the Church in Ireland as we prepare for the World Meeting of Families which is being held in Dublin from the 21st of August to the 26th of August. What is a Parish? • A parish is not only a piece of territory defined by specific boundaries. It is also formed by people who have faith in Jesus Christ and who allow that faith to shape, inform and inspire what they do and how they live.
To conclude the 40th Anniversary celebrations of our church a special Mass was celebrated on Sunday, the 4th of December, at 3pm by the Archbishop of Cashel and Emly, Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly, SMA. All donors and benefactors of the church were remembered in the Mass. Some of the former priests who served in the parish also concelebrated the Mass.
