RECENTLY DECEASED: In our prayers we remember Con Reen, late of Grange Road and Tom Ruby late of Frankfield. We extend our sincere sympathy to their loved ones, relatives, neighbours and friends; may they rest in peace.

FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION – FRIDAY DECEMBER 8th: Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 8th at 10am NO Vigil Mass on Thursday.

ST JOSEPH’S YOUNG PRIEST SOCIETY: Monthly meeting will take place on Monday 4th December in the Little Chapel after 10am Mass; new members are welcome.

CHRISTMAS DUES ENVELOPES: Distributors your bundles of envelopes are ready for collection in the parish office. Extra help is always needed to distribute the envelopes. If you have spare time call to the sacristy or parish office during the week.

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Weekly Adoration every Friday in the Little Chapel after the 10am Mass is now all day until 8pm. Thank you to all who have made this possible. Everyone is welcome to come along and spend some time in private prayer.

PRAYER OF BLESSING FOR THE ADVENT WREATH: Lord God, your Church joyfully awaits the coming of its Savior, who enlightens our hearts and dispels the darkness of ignorance and sin. Pour forth your blessings upon us as we light the candles of this wreath; may their light reflect the splendor of Christ, who is Lord, for ever and ever.

ACTIVE RETIRED PROGRAMME: MONDAY 2pm – 3pm: Gentle Exercises Relaxation, cuppa and chat. 3pm – 4pm: Line Dancing. TUESDAY 2pm Art Group  WEDNESDAY – Cuppa and chat after 10.30 Mass. All events in the parish centre. 
 
A STUDY OF ST MARK’S GOSPEL: Webinar by Dr. Francis Cousins on Tuesday 5th December from 7pm – 8.30pm. This webinar will examine the Gospel of St Mark which is the focus of the Sunday Gospel Readings in the Liturgical Calendar 2023-2024. FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS – Saturday 2nd December. Rosary will be recited on the first Saturday of every month at 6pm in the back chapel in the church in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. There will be a fifteen-minute meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary following the 6.30pm Mass. The First Saturday’s devotion was given to us as a gift from Our Lady of Fatima. She promises that whoever does the Five First Saturdays will be assured of her assistance at the moment of their death. Everyone is most welcome to this special time of prayer.

MASS BOOKINGS for December, January, February and March may now be booked in the parish office; opening days/hours Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10.30am – 12.30pm.  Mass booking may also be made by emailing frankfieldgrange@gmail.com or by Tel. 021 4897379.
 

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: The Frankfield Gospel Choir and Cork Light Orchestra will be performing together in a Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 17th at 5pm here in our parish church for the benefit of Feed Cork. Doors open at 4.15pm. No tickets required. Please come along with family and friends to support this wonderful charity and enjoy a festive evening of Christmas music and song.

CHRISTMAS TRIDUUM MASSES: Christmas Triduum Mass Bouquet cards are now available from the parish office. 10am Masses celebrated on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd December will be offered for the intentions of all the names placed on the Altar; card €1, offering €3
 
DOUGLAS LIONS CLUB Members and their volunteers will be collecting at Ryan’s Supervalu in Grange and outside Dunnes in Douglas Court Shopping Centre, from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th December inclusive. Your continued support will be most appreciated to help those most need this Christmas.
 
PIONEER TOTAL ABSTINENCE ASSOCIATION: The 2024 Pioneer calendar is available from Pioneer centres and from Central Office (01 805 4226). The calendar is designed to offer spiritual support and encouragement to families which are being impacted by alcohol and addiction. SOCIETY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL: Members of the local branch of St. V. De Paul will speak at all Masses this weekend. Their annual Christmas church door collection takes place next weekend, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December; your support is greatly appreciated.

CORK LIONS CLUB is delighted to announce they will be running an Online Auction in aid of the Christmas Food Appeal.  Bidding opens on Monday, 4th December and closes on 8th December at Midnight. We are grateful to the Cork Business Community, who have donated items to date for the auction – visit www,corklionsclub.ie for details. The proceeds from the auction will go towards the Cork Lions Club Christmas Food Appeal. Every year Cork Lions Club distributes food hampers to deserving families in Cork City, with over 500 hampers distributed in 2023.

NEXT 45 CARD DRIVE: Monday, 4th December at 7.30pm in the parish centre; beginners and experienced players are welcome.

CORK ALZHEIMER CAFÉ: The café is a safe place for people with Alzheimers and other dementias, their carers, family and friends along with social and health professionals to meet. Last Friday of each month 11am to 12.30pm in St Finbarrs Hospital Activity Centre, Douglas Road. Light refreshments provided free of charge.

    I attended mass at 4pm on Christmas Eve and I just wanted to thank everyone, who was involved. The singing, the flowers in the church, the crib and the entire mass was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, it was magnificent. Wishing you all a happy and peaceful New Year.
