SUNDAY DEVOTIONS: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Rosary will take place in the Little Chapel at the back of the church on Sunday 15th September at 7pm.

PARISH CHOIR  NEW MEMBERS NEEDED: Enjoy an hour of singing with the Parish Choir at 8pm every Wednesday night. Practice has now resumed and  new members are very welcome to join us.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION every Friday after 10am Mass until 8pm. Everyone is welcome to drop in at any stage and spend some time with the Blessed Sacrament.

MARYMOUNT HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING: The Active Retired Group will be holding their Annual Coffee Morning in aid of Marymount Hospice on Wednesday, September 18th after 10am Mass in the parish centre.

OPEN EVENING:  Christ King Secondary School is holding an Open Evening on Thursday, September 19th from 6-8pm. The Principal’s address 7.15pm. Parents & prospective students  welcome.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION RENEWAL will take place in this parish during all weekend Masses on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd September; a speaker from the Diocesan Eucharistic Committee of Cork & Ross will attend all Masses.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION:  Last weekend (7/8th September) amounted to €1306, 2nd collection for the Church Refurbishment fund came to  €942; thank you for your continued generosity.
 
CORK  ROSARY RALLY: The Cork  Rosary Rally will take place on Saturday 28th September.  Assemble at the City Library from 2pm and walk to St. Mary’s, Popes Quay for 3pm for Mass to mark the beginning of the Fatima Novena; families especially welcome.
 

MONTHLY DAY OF RECOLLECTION: St. Benedict’s Priory, Cobh, Co.Cork. Saturday 28th September. The theme is “Heart speaks to Heart” First talk is at 11am.  Mass at 9am at the Priory or 10am at the Cathedral. Lunch provided. Cost – donation appreciated.

 
CAKE SALE: This weekend 14th/15th September after all weekend Masses in the Little Chapel at the back of the church in aid of Hope Foundation. Please support Julie Sidenham (a parishioner and former altar server) as she travels to Calcutta early next year for a very deserving cause.

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH – FR. MATHEW QUAY: Special Triduum in honour of Padre Pio takes place on Monday to Wednesday 23rd to 25th September 2019 at 7.30pm each evening; come and pray
 
GOUGANE SUNDAY takes place on Sunday 29th September. Bishop Fintan Gavin will preside at 3pm Mass and Fr. Anthony O’ Mahony PP Uibh Laoire will preach the homily. All parishes and clergy are invited to attend.
 

The Rosary for Faith and Life will take place on the 13th of October 2019. We are asking you to find a location in your area and join us in praying the Rosary there at 2.30pm on the 13th October. We are joining with countries all around the world on that day to pray for a return to the Faith and for the protection of the unborn. STRIKE FOR CLIMATE: A Global Strike for Climate takes place Friday 20th September. This time, the young people are asking for support from adults. Holy Cross Church Mahon will host a Prayer-ritual in support of the students’ future at 7pm, and will last for 30 – 40 minutes. All are welcome to join in prayer.

Irish Wheelchair Associations Coastal Camino 2019: Are you looking for your next big adventure? 45 CARD DRIVE: Monday 16th September from 7.30pm in the parish centre. Now that the evenings are getting shorter come along and enjoy a friendly chat and a cuppa; both experienced and beginners are always warmly welcome.
 
Atlantia Food Clinical Trials in Blackpool Retail Park is seeking volunteers who have Type 2 Diabetes who are aged between 18 and 75 years of age. When someone takes part in a clinical trial with them, they have direct and regular access to nutritionist, dieticians, nurses and doctors. In addition to this, the research staff offer regular blood tests, monitor the individual’s BMI (weight and height), blood pressure, heart rate, among other things. DOUGLAS AND DISTRICT CARDIAC SUPPORT GROUP meet on the 1st Thursday each month, from September to June. Venue: Lion House, Douglas Time: 11am – 1pm. The Irish Cancer Society operates a free Volunteer Driver Service that is available to patients attending the following hospitals for chemotherapy treatments; Cork University Hospital, The Mercy University Hospital & South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. Volunteer drivers will pick a patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door and then when finished treatment, pick them up and drop them home again. All volunteer expenses are paid. Free DIY Service for Older People: Age Action’s Care & Repair programme is providing DIY work free of charge for older people in Cork. The service has been in operation since 2009 and is expanding year on year as demand grows. To inquire about the Care & Repair service or to request a job, simply call Age Action at their new office on the Model Farm Rd. MASS CARDS: A new selection of Mass cards and other cards are now available in the Parish office. Cost €2 and €3. A new collection of Baptismal candles are also available.
