Please pray for the repose of the soul of Shaun Aherne, late of Greenvalley, Donnybrook and Blackrock. We extend our sincere sympathy to his loved ones, relatives, neighbours and friends; may he rest in peace.

EASTER DUES ENVELOPES: Distributors, your bundles of envelopes with the Holy Week timetable are ready for collection in the sacristy. Extra help is always needed to distribute these envelopes and timetables so all homes are informed of the Holy Week Ceremonies. The areas of Amberley, Bracken Court and parts of Parkgate East Avenue don’t have any distributors. If you have spare please time call to the sacristy or parish office during the week to volunteer.

STATION MASS: Station area Ballinvuskig, Rose Hill, Fort William Upper Grange at the home of Irene Walsh on Friday March 29th  at 8pm; all are welcome.

TRÓCAIRE: This year’s Trócaire Lenten campaign highlights the different ways land is stolen from vulnerable people in the developing world. It could be by corporate land grabs, by war or simply because they are a woman. To find out more visit www.trocaire.org Please take a Trócaire Box home with you, which are available on the tables at the back of the church.

MASS BOOKINGS for April, May & June may now be booked in the parish office. Opening hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.30am – 12.30pmConfirmation & First Holy Communion cards are available in the parish office cost €1.50.

MATT TALBOT NOVENA:  Monday 25th March we begin Week 3 of the Matt Talbot Novena in The Way of the Cross Church, Togher; Sr Jennifer McAleer, Good Shepherd Sisters, Montenotte will be our preacher and Rev. Fr Colin Doocey, P.P. Mahon will be our celebrant that night. Mass and Novena prayers begin at 7.30pm.

SUNDAY DEVOTIONS: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Rosary this Sunday, (24th March) at 7pm in the little chapel at the back of the church.

HOLY HOUR TO PRAY FOR VOCATION will take place this coming Wednesday 27th March from 3pm to 4pm at the Mercy Hospital Chapel – all are welcome.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION for last weekend (9/10th March) amounted to €1595. 2nd collection this weekend (23/24th March) is the monthly Church Refurbishment Fund; thank you for your continued generosity.

LOURDES 2019: YOUNG ADULT HELPERS: The Diocese of Cork and Ross invites young adults 18-25yrs to join the pilgrimage to Lourdes as helpers from 10th to 15th June. As helpers you will assist with the sick and be involved in the full pilgrimage programme – time for prayer, sharing in the story of Lourdes and making new friends. CORK ALZHEIMERS CAFÉ: A safe place for people with Alzheimers and other dementias, their carers, family and friends along with social and health professionals to meet. DOUGLAS AND DISTRICT CARDIAC SUPPORT GROUP meet on the 1st Thursday each month, from September to June. Venue: Lion House, Douglas Time: 11am – 1pm. The Irish Cancer Society operates a free Volunteer Driver Service that is available to patients attending the following hospitals for chemotherapy treatments; Cork University Hospital, The Mercy University Hospital & South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. Volunteer drivers will pick a patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door and then when finished treatment, pick them up and drop them home again. All volunteer expenses are paid. Free DIY Service for Older People: Age Action’s Care & Repair programme is providing DIY work free of charge for older people in Cork. The service has been in operation since 2009 and is expanding year on year as demand grows. To inquire about the Care & Repair service or to request a job, simply call Age Action at their new office on the Model Farm Rd. MASS CARDS: A new selection of Mass cards and other cards are now available in the Parish office. Cost €2 and €3. A new collection of Baptismal candles are also available.
